Love this. Thanks for sharing this rather anxious making story about running out of petrol. Very much looking forward to seeing you and catching up with you in person - it must be imminent because you have written this on your list of things to do! My only criticism is the downhill to 50 comment. As I hurtle towards 60.. yes 60 I think we should celebrate growing old. It is a privilege and an honour and we earn our wisdom and our wrinkles. They should be celebrated. I always remember how fabulous VCS was and she only just made it to 50. What a waste. The only thing I would say, is growing older does not seem to come with instructions but we can share the realities with each other as we have done at all the other important junctions of our lives xx
Thank you for the wonderful comment Suze, I love hearing this perspective and appreciate it. Of course I am massively inspired by you and hurtling towards 60 how very cool you are! Semantics are a funny thing. In my heart and mind, I am really quite excited about this next chapter so the 'downhill' was merely a reference to over half way there rather than anything negative. But of course with a four-year-old I am focused on keeping young in mind, body and spirit just like mama did for me (almost the same ages, funny how life repeats!). I will do a post on the wonderful women and men in the 50+ stage who inspire me - it's a loooong list! And you're absolutely spot on. Aging is such a privilege and am holding VCS close in my heart and mind right now, and always. Indeed, what a terrible waste. Loads of love xxxx
Glorious read darling. Regardless of the empty tank, YOU filled mine up with our glorious visit. I miss you already xxxx
Thank you darling!! You always fill mine! Xxxx
So glad you got to go on a trip and really fill your tank - and thank you for the very kind words! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Amelia! It's never easy to get away but it's so worth it! YOLO! xx
